To be eligible for a Cornerstone Scholarship Fund award, students must meet the following criteria established under the Oklahoma Equal Opportunity Education Scholarship Act.
The student must be an Oklahoma resident who is eligible to enroll in an Oklahoma public school for the grade level in which a scholarship is sought.
Student households must meet income requirements under state law. Priority Tier 1 is for students from households at or below 100% of the income limit for free or reduced-price lunch. Tier 2 extends up to 200% of that limit.
The student must intend to enroll at an accredited Oklahoma private elementary or secondary school that complies with applicable state requirements and anti-discrimination laws.
Students with documented special needs or exceptional circumstances are eligible for enhanced scholarship awards and receive additional consideration in our selection process.
Scholarships are paid directly to the qualifying private school on behalf of the student. Funds may be applied toward tuition, fees, and other qualifying educational expenses at the school's discretion.
Award amounts are maximums set by Oklahoma statute. Actual awards may be less depending on available funds and application volume. Scholarships must be reapplied for each academic year.
Our application process is designed to be straightforward. Here's what to expect.
Review the eligibility requirements above. If you're unsure whether your household qualifies, contact us at info@cornerstonescholarshipfund.org before starting an application.
Submit a completed application form during the open window (January 15 – April 15). The application includes household income documentation, the student's academic record, information about the intended school, and a personal statement.
Our board reviews all complete applications using our published selection criteria. Applications are scored on financial need (60%), academic standing (20%), special circumstances (10%), and personal statement (10%).
All applicants are notified of the award decision by June 1. Award letters include the scholarship amount, the participating school it is designated for, and instructions for the school to claim the funds.
Scholarship funds are paid directly to the student's qualifying private school on behalf of the recipient. Families do not receive funds directly. Schools must confirm enrollment before payment is issued.
Cornerstone Scholarship Fund scholarships may be used at any accredited Oklahoma private elementary or secondary school that meets the requirements of the Oklahoma Equal Opportunity Education Scholarship Act.
